From the power of esports to the precision of martial arts, Asian Games 2026 will be a thrilling celebration of athleticism and culture. The heart of Japan will pulsate with the energy of competitors from around Asia as they demonstrate their talent and sportsmanship.

The Organising Committee of Asian Games Aichi/Nagoya 2026 has launched a new video that features 10 proposed competition venues for the event, which will be held from September 19 to October 4 next year with 40 sports and 15,000 athletes and team officials. The theme of the games is “Imagine One Asia”.

Amongst other things, the video highlights the city and prefecture’s rich culture that has evolved from the traditions of different ethnic groups in Japan. It also introduces the Asian Games emblem, which has been designed to symbolize the unity and prosperity of all nations in Asia.

India secured two quotas for the men’s and women’s shortboard at the Asian Surfing Championships, which concluded in Mahabalipuram, Tamil Nadu on Tuesday. Both slots were awarded to the Indian team based on the overall rankings.

The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) has confirmed that 11 esports titles will be featured at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games. The list includes four more medal-contending titles than the Games in Hangzhou and aligns with the host nation’s game development ecosystem. PUBG and League of Legends will remain on the medal-contending roster. In addition, the OCA confirmed that Breaking has been added to the Asian Games programme as it continues its rise in global recognition.
